Q: What is the temperature range of food-grade silicone?
A: −50 °C to +200 °C continuous. It tolerates hot CIP/SIP washdown and cold storage, unlike polyether TPU which is limited to −20 °C to +110 °C.
Q: Is silicone tear-resistant?
A: No. Silicone has low tear/abrasion resistance (tensile 7–10 MPa). It is specified for non-abrasive food/pharma transfer. For abrasive powder, choose polyether TPU.
